2019 Summer Program in Hong Kong
The Harvard China Fund supported the Harvard Summer School Program in Hong Kong.
Learn about global events through the lens of one of the world’s most vibrant and international cities—Hong Kong
The program is structured around two courses, each an intensive 4-week seminar, focusing on Hong Kong and China’s past and current interconnections with different world areas in Asia, Europe, and the U.S. Combined, the two courses balance learning from different social science perspectives, provide opportunities for independent research, and underscore the importance of highlighting the complex ways that local and global interactions work to produce social and political effects in the contemporary world. You will study alongside students from Hong Kong Baptist University through interactive seminar discussions, site visits in Hong Kong to NGOs and museums, and field trips across the border to mainland China and Macao. Experience the incomparable possibilities of this world class city, with its rich history, lush and extensive natural landscapes, and exciting urban life.
